Our rebuilt 22RE / 22R engines feature:
Engine block:
-
block is jet tanked, magna-fluxed for cracks and thoroughly inspected
-
block is bored and honed with a torque plate installed insure a straight, true bore and plateau finished for quick and proper piston ring seating
-
block surface (head surface) is decked with NEW O.E.M. timing cover installed for proper fit
-
new O.E.M. oil seals are installed (rear main seal is an updated silicone double lip design)
-
new freeze plug kit is installed (steel only, brass is too soft and tends to leak)
-
all threads are tap chased and cleaned to hold the proper torque
-
crankshaft is reground (ground especially for us for King Bearings) and micro-polished
-
connecting rods are resized (big and small ends are stroked to within .0001”) and NEW pin bushings are installed
-
NEW pistons and pins are installed
-
Perfect Circle chrome rings are installed (EVERY ring is machine gapped with a Borzon wheel to within .001”)
-
King Bearings (mains, rods and thrust) are installed that match our reground crankshaft
Starting with a new cylinder head casting:
-
we remove the exhaust valve seats and install powdered metal seats for durability
-
head is surfaced (we have found the new castings to be out of specs)
-
intake valve seats get a performance 4-angle cut using our Serdi 3.0
-
exhaust seats are fully radiused
-
all NEW valves are installed, checked for proper stem height and then hand lapped to check for proper sealing
-
springs are measured on our spring tester to check for proper tension
-
reground OEM camshaft
-
NEW higher oiling capacity rocker shafts
-
remanufactured rocker arms and new adjuster screws are installed
Assembly:
-
our engines are assembled using a Corteco head gasket, all others are OEM
-
a NEW Japanese OSK timing kit is installed
-
a metal timing chain guide rail is installed for the highest reliabiity
-

NEW head bolts
-
all bolts are torqued to factory specs and double/triple checked
-
valve cover PCV baffle is removed, throughly cleaned and resealed
-
oil pan is cleaned and painted
